As the task of understanding just what this new "law" (not applicable to American citizens) means will take some time, The Musical Patriot respectfully asks citizens in the European Union to cease and desist from accessing this blog for the time being. I completely regret the need for this request. When things are clearer, I will have more to say. I look forward to welcoming Europeans back to this blog. Europeans and others are instead directed to my new blog with a new host. (See link in post below.)

The Republican Party of Trump Is Now

It is after reading numerous articles like the one below that I am coming to believe a Third Party effort is the most viable way to oppose Trump, absent the kind of change of heart the author so passionately calls for.  And he is right to call for a change of heart by the subservient enablers of Trump.

And also badly needing changes of heart are the press and media enablers.  And here I like the term quislings for the media.

As Richard Cohen asks:  How can you excuse the contemptuous comments against women, Mexicans, and Muslims?   Is some new air-brushed Trump going to lose the snarl and the outrage it represents?  Will nicey-nice apologies be soon forth-coming taking it all back?

Oh, and did I mention he has said off-the-cuff that Japan and South Korea could get their own nuclear weapons?

Things have gone far enough and I am frightened enough that I called my U.S. Congressman today to express my deep uncomfortableness with Trump.  The discomfort and worry is visceral.  I fear for my safety, and for the safety of all of us.

Some have wondered fearfully what a Trump Presidency would be like.  We are already beginning to see what a Republican Party with Trump at its head is like.  It is enervated, it is kow-towing, it is without bright moral boundary lines.  And it is already affecting the country.  We can and must do better, and in a very near time.  Our children are counting on us.
