The matter at hand is about principles – – and justice. It is also about tactics.
Here is a word of advice and a strong caution: while it is understandable that Americans would be angry about our economy, this is no justification for going around and killing corporate executives, or anyone else for that matter. This only makes matters worse. We must remember that corporate executives are also victims of the prophet system. No one should be taking the law into his own hands.
—. A practical word, a strong word of caution, and a word of justice.
The language surrounding this story is indeed, terrifying, horrifying. As a former teacher, I know how such a thing can be very disturbing, too young still – developing students.
Every union, and, indeed, every citizen should be appalled at this “practice “display of force hello
Bernie Sanders hits the nail on the head when he talks about the rise of an oligarchy in the U.S.:
The election is not over says New York Times award-winning journalist, Greg Palast. Best known for his work with the London Guardian newspaper, as well as the BBC, Palast answers questions about his work investigating voter challenges. This latest technique of Jim Crow has disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of voters, overwhelmingly, black and Hispanic, reports Palast.
In my mind, what he says here is the smoking gun, even if there are other smoking guns around the country. Challenging other voters right to vote, even voters you know nothing about, has become a right wing fad, with some 43 states adopting This vote suppressing technique.

A commentator on Occupy Democrats has presented video along with explanation of famed prognosticator, Allan Lichtman, he of The Thirteen Keys. Lichtman is identifying one person as the culprit in a stolen election of 2024. I’ll let the video speak for itself. Stop the Steal
Decadence and Decay are Delivered
“The most important election of our lifetimes;” “The election which will decide the fate of democracy,” is now over. Or is it? At this perilous and depressing moment, I am reminding myself and others that truth will out. This I do believe.
Toward that end, the great investigative reporter, Greg Palast, is already going to work to uncover what really happened in this election. The author who brought us “The best democracy money can buy,” and other books, is already hitting the road to try to uncover the nefarious deeds of the Republican Party. How do we know there were nefarious deeds being done this year? Because this project to steal the vote from Voters has been going on for years, indeed, decades. And the Supreme Court has been very much helping.
I will let Mr. Palast explain the rest of the story. You may follow the link immediately below. In the meantime, “the truth shall set us free.” Let us keep believing and join together in solidarity.

Rush lightly edited post —
Earlier here, I wrote about the danger of abolishing the electoral college. If anything, we should be strengthening it.
Better yet, I like the idea of strengthening the Electoral College without beginning citizen participation in the election process. I have some ideas for how this can be done, most of which I will need to put in a future post. According to the constitution except state legislature to decide how to select the electors who will vote for president. This message was put in constitution for a reason. Notice that in this system in any processes, Democratic, baseline is that the lecturer will be selected by people who sell it, been selected by the people.
The other thing which can be done, is to educate. If people knew that the founders understood that not only did the people need to be protected from the government, but the people need to be protected from each other — would likely have more of an appreciation of the fragility of democracy. There would likely be fewer hysterical people, less mud-slinging, and less fewer credible threats to our Democratic system .
With Increasingly apocalyptic language coming from our former leader, this matter has become critically important.
More to come
Quick post yes –
Recently, I saw yet again an article promoting the idea of abolishing the electoral college. While I understand the frustration of people surrounding voting, this is a terrible idea; Something I have spoken to previously.
If we are already having trouble,l deciding what the popular vote is, imagine what it would be like trying to validate the votes of all 50 states.
Our founding fathers were indeed wise. They understood that a direct vote was not the way to go. They knew that unchecked mass emotions could untether the democracy.
The safeguard they come up with was the electoral college. No the electoral cottage does not fit the 24 hour new cycle or the deadline of the next days New York Times.
However, the intent was for the state legislature to decide who were responsible men, who could cast a vote for president after thoughtful reflection.
I suggest that with the turmoil of Trump ism, if anything, the electoral college should be strengthened. However, this should not occur at the expense of citizen involvement. Let’s leave the electoral college in place and concentrate on removing money from politics. That alone when successfully implemented, will be enough.

The slick prevaricator from Ohio, J.D. Vance, made clear tonight that he is no Thomas Jefferson, and not even a Jack Kennedy. His refusal to answer question after question showed his true purpose better than any campaign appearance could. The man is not really interested in the country and its people, their welfare. He is more interested in pleasing the powerful, and taking a seat in the halls of the wealthy. Thus was shown his by refusing to agree that Joe Biden won the election in 2020. Vance revealed his true values: The truth is expendable when one has the chance to advance one’s career. This is the worst side of American politics.
Let me simply quote Shakespeare – – sound and fury signifying nothing.

In a surprising moment of candor in a talk before the political pressure group, Moms for Liberty, Donald Trump states that Joseph Biden won the 2020 election “by a little.“ Evidently, the truth is reserved only for the most sycophantic. See below.

Saturday’s saying
A cat has nine lives.
O n August 17, Cat Nights commence. This name goes back to the days when people believed in witches. In Ireland there’s a story which says that a witch could turn into a cat and regain her real self eight times, but on the ninth time — August 17 — she could not change back, and thus began her final life forever as a cat. Thus the saying, “a cat has nine lives.“

There are several ways the matter can be phrased: normalizing Trump; giving far more airtime to Trump; avoiding criticism of Trump’s delaying tactics; treating his campaign as just a regular campaign. Who is Trump? He is the 34 times convicted felon, who has been running for president for nearly 2 solid years.
Not only is what the media doing ridiculous, it is a threat to democracy. If they are guilty of any one of the above infractions, they can and should be held accountable. If it is time for new law, so be it. If that is not possible, we are going to have to consider turning to other tougher, yet still constitutional and legal, methods to deal with this would-be upender of democracy, and American traitor.
Alan Lichtman is a respected political analyst with an excellent track record when it comes to predicting winners in presidential races in the US. Although he has not yet issued his final prediction for 2024, he indicates that as of now Joseph Biden is ahead in most of the categories in his analysis.
At the same time, certain Democratic leaders are doing everything they can to undermine, and even drive from the race President Biden. Thus the Democrats would lose the advantage of incumbency among other pluses.
I have been flabbergasted at the foolishness of the history- ignorant politicians, who have panicked, essentially on the basis of one debate performance. But Biden is back to himself now and has been for the last two or three weeks at least. The intelligent and self-confident will be glad to back Biden as the best, if not, the only obstacle to authoritarianism in the United States should Trump win.
How It Happened

Robert Reich, former head of the Department of Labor, says that the Republican Party is rapidly dying. According to Reich, the beginnings were in the Ford administration.
Actually, one can argue that the beginnings were long before. For instance, many of the tactics in use today by Republican politicians, were pioneered by Roy Cohn in the 1950s as part of the communist witchhunt. People matter, and politics matters. For, one of Trump’s early teachers was one Roy Cohn.
A pathology is basically a disease. Although a general term it can contain numerous diseases under its umbrella. A new Internet show is delving into the mental health, if you will, of the two main presidential candidates. The show is hosted by two psychologists, who between them have some seventy years of experience. It is a show I can recommend which contains interesting and often, useful, information. Well worth the time. See link below.
At the link below, you can see numerous video clips of both Trump, and the press, in the White House briefing room. Host, Ben Meiselas, explains the behavior in this historic footage.
It is becoming clear to people that the press is not treating the presidential race in an even-handed way. I agree that the underlying motivation of the press, whether they know it or not, is to produce ratings for the media owners, which are now huge corporations, with a motive of their own – – something like avarice.
See for yourself here:
The Stephanopoulos interview – –
What can I say? The hubris, the disregard, the superciliousness, the engagement in hearsay, the lack of a scientific method of any kind — all of this was the Stephanopoulos approach. Not only is this the worst performance of Stephanopoulos’ I have ever seen, but the worst of any interviewer of an any president I have ever witnessed.
It is fine to ask tough questions. But to continue to repeat the same questions over and over with a willing and humble individual, is completely unnecessary, unkind, and full of ill will. If Stephanopoulos did not mean this, he must say so right away. Otherwise, his reputation and that of the general press is in a ruined state.
Today has been the birthday of the Declaration of Independence. For it was on this day thatThomas Jefferson completed his eloquent and landmark document. Two days from now will be the anniversary of its adoption by representatives present and voting. From this day on this great declaration of human rights has been the inspiration for oppressed people all over the world. May it ever be so.

New plan aims to install a fascist dictatorship in America

More coming soon
But They Are a Warning
Elections for the European Union parliament boosted far right parties in several countries in recent days. Newsweek magazine called it a harbinger. I disagree. For one thing, the US has a completely incompetent politician and insurrectionist runnng for a major party nomination. Polls show the incumbent president picking up strength in numerous battleground states at this time.
However, nothing should be taken for granted in politics. It is dangerous for any major political party to give second-rate attention to the economy. While I do not expect the Democratic Party to do that, I am still not sure they understand the depths of disquietude among the electorate regarding our economic future.
Nevertheless, through the authoritative voice of Miriam-Webster, a harbinger is something which foreshadows (predicts) a future event. Setting aside for the moment the difficulty of predicting the future, as such, this precludes the formation of a harbinger this many months from the November election.
But that does not mean that the events in Europe do not raise concerns. At this time, an overwhelming majority of voters in the world did not personally experience Hitler and fascism in countries in Europe in the 30s and 40s. We must beware ignorance first and foremost among the vices. This caution should be taken with utmost seriousness by everyone.
Coming soon: The future of elections in the United States are in the hands of the individual, says commentator.
In recent research while considering the merger of Pioneer Oil and ExxonMobil (itself a merger), the Federal Trade Commission has discovered evidence of collusion between AMERICAN oil companies, and OPEC, the middle eastern oil cooperative. The investigation was able to show that the general rise in prices after Covid was tied to the rise in oil prices. While I am not completely surprised, I am, nevertheless, aghast at the brazenness of this scheme of American companies to work with as opposed to competing against Middle Eastern countries. If this does not border on treason, I don’t know what does. Watch the report here .
As the son of a Presbyterian minister, I feel comfortable in saying categorically that this new “Christian Dominionist“ movement is far from apostolic. To be apostolic means to be descended directly from the original apostles through the laying on of hands. Additionally, not everyone gets to be ordained an apostle in this fashion. Yet anyone can claim so.
That appears to be what has happened with this so-called new apostolic reformation, a movement which seeks to enshrine Christianity as the law of the land. This very dangerous movement threatens the lives of Jewish people, Muslims, Hindus, and anyone who does not profess their kind of authoritarian Christianity. More at the link below.
*The psychologists in the video link to below, have said that Trump is a man with dementia sitting on top of a malignant narcissism. Although these are clinical terms, they do have an important meaning for now. By looking at Trump’s actual spoken words, they are able to make scientific observations which can be helpful.
Their warning is that not only does Trump have deep, psychological problems, but he is also very talented at getting a large group of people to follow him – – just as with a cult leader.
They are also practically begging Democratic leaders to speak up with the kind of passionate energy which Trump apologists are displaying. I agree. At the very least, I agree.

Our Former Leader continues to see a drop in support after his guilty verdict in a New York court room last week. It seems that the American people do care, after all. Patriots who make up this country do not want to see a collapse of the rule of law. This is great good news, not only for the United States, but for the world.

But wait! This poll from the non–partisan Civitas organization, is from 2020. In that poll, Trump had a small, statistically insignificant lead. Biden went on to achieve a convincing win.
This gives us pause. There are going to be many polls. Some will be more legitimate than others. We must be patient, but at the same time we need to get busy and do our part to make sure America does not fall into authoritarian hands. This is most important.

Another expert on dementia has appeared on television, analyzing the mental state, or states, of the best known presidential candidates in 2024. Her talk is very interesting, and quite helpful. The situation with the mental functioning of our candidates is definitely concerning, especially with Trump, and now also with RFK, Junior.
I especially like this expert’s criticism of the media. I will let her speak for herself. But I certainly share the criticism of the media which stems from ignorance, and which tries to equate President Biden and Trump. It is time to call this matter for what it is: ignorance, laziness, and even arrogance.

I am just old enough to remember the satirical pictures of King Richard I of the House of Nixon of California. Oh, how history repeats itself.
The six Right-wing Supremes on Thursday did their best to smooth the way for an authoritarian monarch. For, a president who cannot be held accountable, becomes a dictator. No one in his right mind would wish for this. You may draw your own conclusion about the state of mind of certain Justices.
The election of socialist Bernard Sanders as mayor of Burlington, Vermont, stunned the country in 1981.
In this interview with Phil Donahue, on the Today show, Mr. Sanders appears as one of the most refreshing and most sane new politicians of America. What could have been if Mr. Sanders had been elected president in 2016? Yet such was not to be.
However, we still have Bernard Sanders with us in 2024, thank the Lord. His message is still pertinent, even more so.
Second edition —
Ethical questions are continuing to be raised over various Supreme Court ethics issues. As confidence in the court continues to erode, the question of the integrity of the court continues.
Several issues in recent years have raised alarms. Both justices Thomas and Alito have come under scrutiny for questionable dealings. Following on was the controversial Dobbs decision repealing the Roe v. Wade decision of some five decades ago.
In today’s news comes analysis of the decision of the Supreme Court to take up the matter of whether the insurrectionists of January 6, engaged in obstruction of an official government activity. Legal experts are asking why the Supreme Court has even taken up this matter at all. Today’s report heard over SiriusXM satellite radio includes commentary and analysis from legal experts, indicating that this decision is highly dubious.
I am also informed that the national Supreme Court has fewer ethical standards and methods of oversight than practically any state Supreme Court in the nation. The reality of the situation is that the Supreme Court has begun to move into the role of the superior branch of government in what is supposed to be an equal separation of powers.
In light of all this it is past time for the country, through its Congress, to exercise appropriate oversight. The alternative is a Court currently dominated by justices appointed by Republican rightists. The Court seems, at best, not up to the job, and at worst, a threat to our democracy.
Legal teams around Mr. Trump have their hands full, keeping up with all the machinations of the several court cases underway. In fact, one wonders how they do keep up.
Now come reports that Mr. Trump himself may be reaching the limits of what he can orchestrate in order to pay, not only lawyers bills, but now fines and even payments required in order to advance appeals. One could quite easily predict that the political end of Mr. Trump is coming. But not being a believer in prognostications of this sort, I shall refrain for now, Howevrr, it doesn’t take a tremendous amount of foresight to see that Mr. Trump is in serious legal, and perhaps even political, trouble.
I have just watched a video on the YouTube channel called Blanco Lirio on the crash of the Pakistani International Airlines plane in Karachi in 2020. The host of the channel, Juan Brown, goes through the entire sequence of events which led to a crash which killed 91 people. He reports on the written analysis of the causes of the crash, which was made by the authorities.
There were a number of cascading events which were recorded. These eventually led to what is called an unstabilized approach, damage to both engines resulting in loss of power, which then caused the plane to descend and crash into a building.
There are people now who believe that one of the two major parties in the United States is on a dangerous glide path to disaster. One of the causes for the situation is – – to borrow from airline safety jargon — a lack of quality control. We have had another example of this today, according to the New York Times. It seems that the Senate GOP leader, Mitch McConnell, will not continue in his role after the end of 2024. The New York Times says that a part of the reasoning of McConnell is that he knows he is out of step in his foreign-policy views with the presumed Presidential nominee, Donald Trump. Putting aside for a moment the major questions about the ability of Trump to run for office under the 14th amendment, this demonstrates that the GOP is putting the needs of one man ahead of all other considerations, including the needs of the American people. What do I mean by this? This indicates, in effect, that the grand old party cares more about power than it does ethics, or even the safety of the country.
How this plays out, is yet to be seen. But it is clear that the party, and thus the country is in danger of putting into the leadership role of President a man who has openly declared his opposition to the constitution. This opposition would lead to autocratic government under Trump very soon. I will have one or two recommendations about actions which can be taken based on many years of following American politics, plus considerable study, reading, and thought. You are cordially invited to return here and check out these recommendations in the near future .
The rise of Hitler was so different from the rise of Franklin Roosevelt as to call into question the very title of this book. And yet the juxtaposing of these two figures from World War II in their year of ascendancy is taking.
The book alternates chapters between Hitler and Roosevelt. In this way both figures exist together, yet separately. The choice two different countries made is apparent. But in America, the United States already had a long history of democracy, whereas Germany's democratic history was short indeed. Thus, Germany was susceptible to fascism in a way American fascists could only dream of.
Now, in 2024, we have an ill-informed American public, most persons of which are insufficiently schooled in the the history of the rise of Hitler. This book helps remedy that lack.
But even with books like 1932, the right-leaning capitalist media of America with its emphasis on the trivial and superficial, presents American patriots with the task of overcoming the intellectual torpor, and simple ignorance of a very wide swath of the public. We can only hope and pray that the ground-level efforts of the people will overcome the propaganda front of smoke, and clouds, and mirrors.
