Saturday’s saying
A cat has nine lives.
O n August 17, Cat Nights commence. This name goes back to the days when people believed in witches. In Ireland there’s a story which says that a witch could turn into a cat and regain her real self eight times, but on the ninth time — August 17 — she could not change back, and thus began her final life forever as a cat. Thus the saying, “a cat has nine lives.“
