Sen. Al Franken has announced that in coming weeks he will resign from the U. S. Senate. This is tragic news for America. Whatever the circumstances (and there has not been any trial), this is a tremendous loss for the country. Sen. Franken was a tireless advocate for the average citizen and the underprivileged. He will be missed.
