In a rather surprising move, President Obama has today called for a reform of the way surveillance issues are decided in a secret court, and has also called for greater transparency in the way intelligence is gathered.
While welcome news, the suggested reforms may not go far enough. It could well be a situation of too little too late in a controversy that never should have arisen.
