Let us remember:
1. Bombing a sovereign nation is an act of war.
2. The Constitution gives Congress alone the power to declare war:
"To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;..."
Clearly, the President does not have the power to send bombs on a sovereign foreign nation without a Congressional declaration of war. This was true in 1789 and it is true today. Therefore, President Obama, all high-sounding words to the contrary, is in violation of the Constitution, pure and simple. Mr. Obama now stands in a sad line of Presidents, including Johnson, Reagan, both Bushes and others who either fudged on Congressional mandates or acted flat-out without specific Congressional authorization for the use of force.
It is long past time to end the Imperial Presidency!
