As Wisconsinites by the tens of thousands protest the bald-faced attack on collective bargaining in their state, Democratic pollster Paul Maslin predicts the Republican state Senators targeted for recall will be thrown out of office this summer. He further predicts an effort to put a recall of Scott Walker on the ballot next year will also succeed. He says the recall effort itself will ultimately succeed or fail based on whether Independents decide whether his governorship is salvageable.
Ultimately, the status of corporations and wealthy donors who put these nasty ideologues into office must be decided, as both categories of givers are far too powerful. What is not seen is their power derives from our economic system itself and our attachment to it. Thus the capitalist system must go.
