IMPORTANT NOTICE: The blogger has received notice of new responsibilities relevant to new "laws" coming from the European Union. The blogger receives no personally indentifiable information. As the task of understanding just what this new "law" (not applicable to American citizens) means will take some time, The Musical Patriot respectfully asks citizens in the European Union to cease and desist from accessing this blog for the time being. I completely regret the need for this request. When things are clearer, I will have more to say. I look forward to welcoming Europeans back to this blog. Europeans and others are instead directed to my new blog with a new host. (See link in post below.)

Let it be borne on the flag under which we rally in every exigency, that we have one country, one constitution, one destiny. -- Daniel Webster

There Is Still Sanity in the Country

...even among Republicans.

MSNBC is chronicling statements from responsible Republicans lambasting the irresponsibility of Trump.

Incidentally, Trump's latest colossal flip-flop now has him accepting cash from top Republican donors, a complete 360-degree turn from his self-funding stance earlier.

Common sense Republicans are not buying the Trump "show."   Figures such as David Meyers and Robert Kagan are mincing no words in denouncing the egoism, grandstanding, and just plain flimsy policy stands of one Donald Trump.  While an attempt is being made to "rally around" Trump, key figures are declining to do so.  If this keeps up, the Trump campaign could implode.

In coming days I will have more to say about what the average person can do to oppose Trumpism.  For now, I suggest finding an e-mail address for any or all of the brave persons speaking out and listed in the article below.  Let them know how much you appreciate their good character and honesty.  You don't have to be a "conservative" to write.

Republican Leaders Speak Out Against Trump

  1. Sixty members of the Republican national security community have signed an open letter opposing Trump? So says the article linked to here.
