The NASA Juno spacecraft will reach Jupiter, the solar system's largest planet, on Independence Day, Monday. The spacecraft, launched in August of 2011, will probe closer to the planet than ever before. Dedicated exclusively to exploring the mysterious planet it contains instruments which are expected to help the space agency to develop a new understanding of the far-off world.
The U.S. can be proud of this achievement. Independence Day fireworks do not only occur on Earth, it appears. Some fireworks are of the intellectual, scientific kind. (Read more at the link below.)
