Has the European Union Destroyed the Internet?

The Musical Patriot has asked Europeans to cease and desist in their use of this blog. This radical request is actually quite rational in light of all the confusion this law is creating as reported in the United States. The question is, What is this law? Where did it come from? Why has there been no effective and detailed warning for persons who depend on the convenience of such an important communications tool as the Internet? Why are we being subjected to ill-thought-out laws in both the United States and Europe? Who will right this sinking ship? Read more here:

On The Occasion of Our Tenth Anniversary

On Saturday, May 28, 2016, The Musical Patriot web log marks its tenth anniversary live on the World Wide Web. From the beginning The Musical Patriot has been interested in world affairs from an ethical, philosophical, and artistic viewpoint.

During its first summer, the blog presented a series of posts under the general title of "Theologians Under Hitler," taking its title from a major book and video by the same name produced by the United Methodist Church.

Economic justice has been a recurrent theme of the blog, and the author has frequently taken less-than-popular positions on various issues from low wages and union-busting activities to unsung political candidates both national and local.

The Musical Patriot was one of the first blogs to warn about the seriousness of the Trump candidacy. This was at a time when pundits of mainstream media were claiming Trump would never be nominated.

Issues also given attention have included music both good and bad, the environment including global climate change, European political unrest such as in Greece, the Russian view of modern American life, and the Chinese economic threat to American economic dominance.

This vast array of issues has been somewhat unusual for a small-scale blog. It has, of course, provided a more interesting and varied menu for its readers compared with single-item blogs.

Readership has recently seen an uptick as readers from all continents except Antarctica have visited and read posts.

Most recently, The Musical Patriot has concentrated heavily on the D. Trump candidacy with the blog writer viewing Trump as essentially a fascist and demagogue. Many examples have been given and a clear picture of the real estate mogul has emerged.

The Musical Patriot looks forward to a continued presence on the web during the critical days ahead. Readers will continue to be valued wherever they may reside.
