According to this video from the Robert Reich YouTube channel, the root of our political and societal troubles is corruption. This explanation will do about as well as any other. This is very much related to other posts regarding the nature and power of corporations, which I have posted earlier. I like the idea of states taking the lead on reining in corporate abuse.
